A magazine and platform for Omani visual art.

Riwaq stared with a simple idea from a young generation that wanted to see Omani art given the space it deserves.

We created Riwaq as a voice for the artists, photographers, designers, and visual storytellers shaping Oman’s creative scene today. There is a growing energy around art in Oman new ideas, new practices, and new people finding their own ways to create. We want to be part of that movement.

Riwaq is not here to tell you what Omani art is supposed to be. We’re here to show you what it is becoming.

Through our magazine, we discover and document creative voices from across Oman, bringing different practices and perspectives together in one space. Every issue is a snapshot of where our creative community is at that moment while leaving room for whatever comes next.

More than a magazine, Riwaq is a platform. A place to discover artists, start conversations, document our culture, and give young creative voices the visibility they deserve.

Founder’s Note

Riwaq began from a feeling I think many young creatives in Oman share: there is so much happening, but not enough of it is being seen.

I wanted to create something that belonged to our generation something that could document the people creating around us and give their work a place to live beyond an exhibition, a post, or a passing moment.

For me, Riwaq is about creating a voice for Omani art. Not one voice that speaks for everyone, but a space where many voices can exist together.

This is a magazine, but it is also the beginning of something bigger. A growing archive of our creative scene, built by the people experiencing it.

I don’t know exactly where Riwaq will go. And honestly, I think that’s the exciting part.

This is our space. This is our time. This is Riwaq.
