Our first issue begins with a question: How do you see the world?

For our first issue, Riwaq explores Perspective not simply as the way we look at something, but as the way we understand it.

We all move through the same world, yet we experience it differently. A place can be home to one person and unfamiliar to another. A photograph can hold one meaning for the person who made it and an entirely different one for the person who sees it. An ordinary moment can become something worth remembering when viewed from another angle.

Perspective lives in these differences.

It can be shaped by memory, place, culture, identity, emotion, experience, or simply by where we choose to stand.

For Issue 01, we want to bring together different ways of seeing, from photographers and artists to writers, filmmakers, designers, and anyone who uses creativity to express an idea.

There is no single interpretation of Perspective.

We want to see yours.
